Born September 7, 1859 in Clayton County, Iowa. In 1868 the family moved to Pawnee
County, Nebraska. In 1882 they moved to Garfield County, Nebraska. In September,

In the spring of 1993 returned to Iowa to farm in Cerro Gordo County.
The following biography is taken from a handwritten entry in the memorial book from
Edwin's funeral in 1937: "E. M. Strunk was born near Strawberry Point, Clayton County,
Iowa on September 7, 1859. In the summer of 1868 moved with his parents to Pawnee
County, Nebraska where his father homesteaded there at that time and lived there
until at the age of 23 (1882) he moved to Garfield County, Nebraska and settled
on a homestead and timber claim. At the age of 25 was married to Miss Ida May Carpenter.
There were born to this union five boys and one girl. The girl died at the age of
seven years and the youngest boy at birth. In the spring of 1893 they moved to Cerro
Gordo County, Iowa, lived there six years and and in the spring of 1899 moved to
Murray County, Minnesota and lived there until November, 1915 then moved to Whittier,
California. He joined the church at twenty years of age and said he had not always
kept the faith in his early life."
Final resting place: Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier, California; Sunset Lawn, grave
1, lot 475 At their Whittier house on Pickering, they had a "saucer peach" tree
that produced great peaches which the kids would pick when they visited.
