David Strunk was born on March 24, 1803 in Rensselear, New York. David was the youngest
of two sons born to Jacob & Elisabeth Strunk. David was christened in 1803 at the
High and Low Dutch Reformed Congregation, Schoharie, New York.
On September 18, 1832 David married Amarilla Denton at Chautauqua, New York.
On July 1, 1833 their first son, Mortimer Strunk,
was born followed on May 16, 1834 by their first daughter, Melinda Strunk. Both
children were born in Ellicott, Chautauqua, New York.
The family moved to Pittsford Township, Hillside, Michigan where their second son
Thomas J. Strunk was born on Jan 4, 1838. The family continued to grow in Michigan
with the addition of six more children: Albert D. Strunk on July 19, 1842; William
B. Strunk, January 5, 1844; Sarah Strunk in 1845; Willard F. Strunk in 1848; Ebineezer
Strunk on February 12, 1850; and, Selena Strunk in 1853.

364). Value of real estate owned $1,500.
Iowa Census, 1860, Clayton County, Lomodillo Twp, pp. 517 - 518. It appears that
he lived with his family on the farm, and that Murtimer (oldest son) lived in a
separate house on the same farm. David's farm valued at $2,500, personal estate
$500, in 1860.
